Vineyard

Szabo Vineyards is not just a family-run winery, but a unique experience of history and forward thinking.

Sustainable Farming Practices

We strive to work in harmony with nature and protect the environment, while producing the highest quality grapes in our vineyard. Our sustainable wine growing practices help us reduce water and energy use, minimize the use of pesticides, build healthy soils, protect air quality, recycle natural resources and maintain the surrounding wildlife habitat.

Family-Owned & Operated

Our hand-crafted wine varietals are distinguished by the exceptional quality of our fruit and the singular attention to detail that we lavish upon their production. From pruning vines to bottling wine, we do the work ourselves – a rarity these days in the wine industry.

Boutique Wines

Our wines age well. They are made exclusively from our own estate-grown grapes, and are notable for being big, bold and fruit-forward. We believe that the quality of our fruit is fully expressed in the hand-crafted quality of our wines.

Estate Grown Grapes

The mountain effect that occurs in this region closely approximates that of the Napa Valley, with cool evening breezes that emanate from the western slopes of the Sierras. These cool breezes, in addition to the soil, make for exceptionally high-quality and intensely flavored fruit.

Hillside Solar Winery

Situated in the southwestern portion of the estate hillside, this state-of-the-art passive solar facility is built into the hillside and was specifically engineered to keep the wines at constant temperature year-round without external power sources.

The Sierra Foothills

The structure and texture of the soils in the Northern Sierra foothills is extremely rocky, well-draining and slightly acidic. Historically, some of the first vineyards in California were located in the Sierra Foothills, an adjunct of the California Gold Rush.
